Counselling & Psychotherapy Sydney CBD
Psychotherapy for personal development
Individual counselling and therapy can benefit anyone at any stage of life. Often people seek out counselling when they are going through difficult moments in life, and want greater support and opportunity to talk through the challenges they are facing.
Psychotherapy can help you process and heal previous traumas, identify where you may be stuck in old habits or patterns and remove obstacles such as limiting beliefs which may be holding you back
Having a confidential and supportive space to explore options and talk about personal issues can be invaluable at these difficult moments.
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy can help in working through a decision, in accessing support and compassion when coping with painful emotions and experiences, or in processing previous traumatic events. .
It may also be that you don’t know what the issue is - you just have a sense that life could be better. Find support to access the changes, decisions and choices that are right for you.
Common presenting concerns include anxiety, depression, past trauma including childhood trauma, grief and loss, general discontent, relational issues, parenting concerns, stress management, substance misuse, spiritual development.
Psychotherapy Approach
My counselling approach is positive, supportive and guided by you. It is important to talk through your initial reason for coming and hopes for change after our sessions. These reasons and hopes are often very individual and personal, and the outcome from the initial meetings can be varied.
My approach is one of empathy and challenge – first and foremost I want you to feel safe and understood. I also want to help you grow and expand and look to new possibilities, new options, new ways of being.
Therapy is collaborative and unfolds at your pace, in your time.
I believe in the importance of empowering you to determine your best course of action, blended with the most up to date knowledge and research for you to consider and reflect on. I work holistically and attend to the mind-body-spirit parts of your life. My approach includes a variety of techniques - cognitive, behavioural, experiential, mindfulness, memory processing and work with the body.
